FCA Received the following text for a Fire Watch Basics Presentation

The Orange County Fire Watch Volunteers are preparing for the upcoming Red Flag Warning/Santa Ana Wind season as many of your agencies and organizations are. OC Fire Watch Volunteers virtually participated at our kick-off event on May 8th for the 2021 Fire Watch Symposium. A recording of the symposium is available at the IRNaturalLandmarks YouTube Channel. This year the deployment exercise on Saturday, June 5th will focus on a review of the Fire Watch deployment basics and the unique aspects of the four Fire Watch locations listed below. Only ten Fire Watch Volunteers and I will be at the various locations at the identified times in Fire Watch uniforms with appropriate COVID precautions. We will communicate to members of the public that the activities are only an exercise. Any Fire Watch Volunteers not able to attend because of the ten volunteer cap to the training activity, scheduling conflicts or any other reason will be able to participate virtually via a live stream on the IRNaturalLandmarks YouTube Channel and the following recording of the trainings.

9:00 AM – 9:30 AM – Caspers Wilderness Park #1 (Ranger Station Lookout Tower)

10:00 AM – 10:30 AM – Laguna Coast Wilderness Park #1 (Ridge Park)

11:00 AM – 11:30 AM – Irvine Ranch Open Space #4 (Spur Gate)

12:00 PM – 12:30 PM – Carbon Canyon Regional Park #1 (Dam Road)

If you have any questions, comments or concerns regarding the training please contact me. If your agency or organization has any new or additional contacts that need to be added to this distribution list, feel free to pass this email on and reply with their contact information so I can update our contact list. If you wish to be removed from this distribution, please contact me so I can promptly remove you.

Thank you for supporting the Fire Watch Volunteers,
