Chipper Day 2022 is Rescheduled

for Saturday, October 22, 2022

The potential danger of heavy rain on the long steep hillside necessitated the rescheduling.

Prepare your Property for Fire Season! The FCA Fire Safe Council has partnered with Park West, Team Rubicon, and the Orange County Fire Authority (OCFA) to provide North Tustin & OPA residents with a chipper day where residents can drop off plant material, free of charge to be properly recycled. Park West will have a chipping machine on site that will be used to dispose of plant material. The objective is to reduce the fire threat level by removing dead, overly dense and overgrown plants from your property.

If you are unable to drop off your own plant material, Team Rubicon can help. Meet us early between 8:00am-8:45am to schedule a curbside pick-up. Curbside pick-up is limited and cannot be guaranteed.

Note this is a free service, provided by Foothill Communities Association (FCA), for residents of North Tustin and Orange Park Acres.

Vegetation management is to reduce wildfire threat by the controlling of plant material surrounding the home. Remove all dead plants within 100 ft of your home and plants on the undesirable list. Examples of undesirables include cypress, eucalyptus, arborvitae, and fountain grass. Prune and trim all plants in the 100 ft zone. Replace highly combustible plants with recommended plants such as White Alder, African Sumac, Citrus, Blue Hibiscus, Chaparral Bloom, and Oleander. Use fire resistant plants where possible.
