Dear Supervisor Campbell,

Jack and I have lived in North Tustin since Sept.,1957. We've seen LOTS of changes in our time here. Back then, our biggest concern was annexation by Tustin and we carried petitions several times to combat the various attempts Tustin made to annex and densify us, no matter the incompatibility with the surrounding neighborhood and the North Tustin Specific Plan (which Jack helped write). You particularly can appreciate that we enjoy the low density, semi-rural lifestyle. Many of our neighbors settled here for that reason and will fight to the hilt any threat to it.

Now Kisco is seeking a monstrous zone change which, if granted, would surely result in the highest densification development in North Tustin and precedent for even more creeping high density all along the entire North Newport Blvd. Since the approved 1982 North Tustin Specific plan, that plot, and its neighbors, has been zoned single family residential, 3.5 max dwelling units/acre.  Approval of this zoning change would effectively destroy any further relevance of the specific plan in this area.

The lot in question could be developed very nicely into a group of single-family homes, conforming to the single family, single story residential neighborhoods surrounding it. The only rationale for the proposed massive two story facility is crass greed on the part of the developer.

That's why the neighbors are overwhelmingly opposed to it; why we enjoy a rural lifestyle without the imposition of commercialism and very high-density housing causing congestion, noise and all that accompanies such use.

Jack and I are against the proposed Kisco development on Newport Avenue. I hope you will help FCA and the residents here in our battle against yet again a request for Zone Change.

Thanks for you valuable time!
