Dear Supervisor Campbell,
My family and I have lived in North Tustin for a little more than 10 years. We moved from Anaheim Hills to this area because we liked its central location and its low density, semi-rural lifestyle. We’ve since come to appreciate the strong sense of community here as well. I’m writing to let you know that I am opposed to the new senior living center that Kisco is proposing they build in my neighborhood. I believe that the senior living center would significantly change the lifestyle that we have enjoyed for the past 10 years and anticipated enjoying for many more.
More specifically, I am opposed to the rezoning of the land that would permit medium to high density housing in the middle of a single family residential area. Approval of this zoning change would negatively impact my family’s lifestyle and potentially negatively impact my home’s property value. Additionally, I suspect that a zoning change could encourage spot zoning changes of other smaller sites in the North Tustin area. This, too, would have a negative impact on the lifestyle we have come to appreciate in this area.
I am not opposed to the development of a senior living center in our community. I am simply asking that such a facility be built in an area that is already zoned for this type of development. Perhaps the land in my neighborhood could be sold to a company interested in building a community of single family homes that conforms to the current zoning and the proceeds from the sale of the property could be used to acquire land for a senior facility elsewhere in the community. In any case, I do hope that you will help FCA and the residents here in our campaign against this zoning change request.
Sincerely,
Stephanie Christopherson
